Tea Taster
Tea is not really Zabrina Lo‘s ‘cup of tea’, but watching films and stage productions, and reading and writing definitely are. Zabrina graduated from Sacred Heart Canossian College, where she was an editor and writer of Concord, the school magazine, for three years. In 2008 and 2009, she was invited to be the columnist of The Student Standard. Zabrina is currently an undergraduate majoring in English Language and Literature at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). She was the first-prize winner of the 8th English Short Story Writing Competition and the English Poetry Writing Competition at HKBU in 2012. She studied English, Great Books and Film Studies as a Visiting Student at the University of Oxford in 2013 and 2014. During that time, she was an active member of creative writing workshops and she worked for the Broadcasting Team of Cherwell. She is honoured to be one of the seven Young Friends Reporters of the Hong Kong Arts Festival 2014–2015.
Apart from the arts, Zabrina is very passionate about the wildlife. In 2010, she was selected as one of the twenty-two Hong Kong students to participate in the Mighty Rovers Antarctica Expedition sponsored and organized by Yan Oi Tong and Hong Kong Discovery. This once-in-a-lifetime experience has inspired her to become a wildlife writer. She hopes to gain more experience in the film industry, particularly screenwriting, and to write her first book.
